Fenger Pointing

Union full court press

As some people know, the opposite of love is not hate; it is total indifference. Certainly the Greater Phoenix Chamber of Commerce knows this. The nasty trick GPCC pulled on Phoenix mayoral candidate Jennifer Wright is hardball politics at its ugliest. Read the rest of this entry »

Political potpourri

I didn't think I could find a match for Governor Chris Christie of New Jersey for telling-it-like-it-is, but, as one person describes it, the new Maine governor is making Christie "look like an enabler." He is Paul LePage, and he doesn't suffer fools or union thugs gladly. (I wonder if he knows about the long-running corruption with Falmouth's town government?)

Too Richie for words

Richie NikScottsdale, Arizona, is poised to garner the kind of national attention not seen since the Pink Taco opened in town and gave Mayor Mary Manross feminine heartburn. Read the rest of this entry »

Why I would make a lousy Libertarian

I have often been asked why I don't join the Libertarian Party, since (1) my criticism of fellow Republicans is as fierce as that directed at Democrats and (2) I possess strong libertarian instincts. That's a fair question. Here's why I would make a lousy Libertarian:

Libertarian Party members believe that a government that governs least, governs best. They value personal liberty highly and want government – especially the federal government – to stay out of their lives unless they are harming another individual. This is both on the social and economic level.

Loopy project gunrunner

If you asked the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives (ATF) to explain the purpose of their Project Gunrunner, they would tell you they wanted to stop the alleged flow of guns to drug cartels and other criminals in Mexico. That would be laughable if the consequences weren't so deadly. Read the rest of this entry »

High-speed rail torpedoed

Obama lied. Last week he stood in front of a crowd and told them that our lack of spending on infrastructure is what caused the bridge to collapse in Minneapolis, Minnesota, on August 1, 2007, killing 13 people and injuring 145 others. That's a fib to nowhere. Read the rest of this entry »

Stupid is as stupid does

I like giraffes. A whole lot. That's why it was frightening to watch one almost choke to death last Tuesday at the Wildlife World Zoo and Aquarium in Litchfield Park at the hands of jerks.

For three years I had been meaning to drive out there to feed these gentle giants. When I finally did, it was on a day in which the field where the feeding station is located had been irrigated that morning. The giraffes cannot enter the field on those days, since they could snap their long legs if they sunk in the mud.

California stinkbombs

She's baaaaack! Like a bad penny, Erin Brockovich (below), the paralegal queen of junk science jackpots, returned this month to Hinkley, California. Let's review the endowed activist's claim to fame, just in case you missed the 2000 movie starring Julia Roberts who, in a marvel of bodily engineering, mustered up enough cleavage to play the role. OSU’s nuclear meltdown

The eyes of the world are on Japan and its Fukushima Daiichi Nuclear Power Plant where there have been two explosions since a devastating earthquake and tsunami hit on March 11. The cost has been reported as second only to Hurricane Katrina that hit New Orleans in August of 2005.

There is another storm brewing over Corvallis, Ore., at Oregon State University that could have long-lasting effects on the reputation of this institution. This explosion involves the potent mixture of academic ideology and politics at the OSU Nuclear Engineering Department. The fallout could be just as ugly.

Tea and political crumpets

On Feb. 27, 2009, the first National Tea Party was held in 48 locations across the country. Two years from the day, a big cake with a numeral two anniversary candle was brought onto the stage of the Phoenix Convention Center where the inaugural Tea Party Patriots' American Policy Summit was held Friday through Sunday noon. The Gross National Debt

This is why we need a total change in Washington D.C. This insane spending must stop for the good of America! Only you can make this happen. Get rid of the United Nations Controlled, I.C.E.L.E. designation / member city status that you currently have. There is no need for it and it only assures that your taxes will continue to rise and your rightful freedoms will be lost.
